SETTING AND ACHIEVING GOALS

1.  List your values 

What’s really important to you?  Your religion?  Your leisure time?  Your hobbies?  Decide what your most important values in life are and then make sure that the goals you set are designed to include and enhance them.

2.  Begin with the end in mind

Tom Watson, the founder of IBM was once asked what he attributed the phenomenal success of IBM to and he said it was three things.  The first thing was that he created a very clear image in his mind of what he wanted his company to look like when it was done.  He then asked himself how would a company like that have to act on a day to day basis.  And then in the very beginning of building his company, he began to act that way.

3.  Project yourself into the future

The late great Earl Nightingale created a whole new industry  (self improvement) after a twenty year study on what made people successful.  The bottom-line result of his research was simply, “We Become What We Think About.”  Whatever thoughts dominate our minds most of the time are what we become.  That’s why goal setting is so critical in achieving success because it keeps us focused on what’s really important to us.  He then said that the easiest way to reach our goals is to pretend that we had ALREADY achieved them.  That is, begin to walk, talk and act as though we are already experiencing the success we seek.  Then, those things will come to us naturally through the power of our subconscious mind.

4.  List ten things you want this year

When you make a list of the things that are important to you, you begin to create images in your mind.  It’s been said that your mind will actually create chaos if necessary to make images become a reality.  Because of this, the list of ten things will probably result in you achieving at least eight of them within the year.

5.  Create a story board

Attach a piece of poster board to a wall in your office or home where you will see it often.  Page through magazines, brochures, etc. cut out pictures of things you want and paste them to your story board.  In other words, make a collage of the goals and things that excite you…knowing full well that as you look at them everyday, they will soon be yours.

6.  Three most important things

Decide on three things that you want to achieve before you die.  Then work backwards to listing three things you want in the next 20 years, 10 years, 5 years, this year, this month, this week, and finally the three most important things you want to accomplish today.

7.  Ask yourself questions

When thinking about your goals, instead of wishing for them to come true, ask yourself HOW and WHAT CAN YOU DO to make them come true.  The subconscious mind will respond to the questions you ask  far greater than if you just make statements or make wishes.

8.  Focus on one project at a time

Trying to work on too many things at one time is the greatest mistake people make in setting goals.  There is tremendous power in giving focused attention to just one idea, one project or one objective at a time.

9.  Write a Scenario

Project yourself into the future.  Pretend that you are being interviewed by a reporter because you have just received an excellent achievement award for outstanding success in your business.  When asked what you attribute your success to, what are the things you will point out as reasons why you succeeded.  Describe the activities of your daily routine now that you are successful.

10.  Pray and Meditate

Before you drop off to sleep each night, think about your goals.  Get a clear colorful image in your mind of seeing yourself doing the things you’ll be doing

after you’ve reached your major goal.  Remember to include your values.  Then begin to ask and demand for these things through meditation and prayer.

 

NETWORK MARKETING CRITERIA
 

Network Marketing is being taught in more than 300 colleges.  After extensive research into the network marketing industry, we developed three criteria that a network marketing company must meet in order to make it a most desirable opportunity.  They are:

  • The company must be at least 18 months old, as 90% of all network marketing companies that fail do so in the first 18 months.

  • The company must have a product that is both unique and highly consumable.  Being unique in this case means that you have an exclusive product that can only be purchased from your company’s distributors.  Having a product that is highly consumable means repeated sales, thereby guaranteeing customer’s loyalty versus a one-time sale and having to locate new customers.

  • It needs to be a “ground floor” opportunity.  We suggest that in order for the opportunity to qualify as “ground floor,” the number of existing active distributors should be less than ½ of 1% of the population (300 million in the United States) in the country where this network marketing company exists.  In the United States, the figure is equal to 1,500,000 people.  If there are less than 500,000 people involved, you would be on the “cutting edge” of a great opportunity.  If the company has less than 100,000 distributors, we consider it a “once in a lifetime” opportunity.

There are four stages of growth in a network marketing company:

 

FOUNDATION:

This usually lasts 6 months.  This is a period when the company develops

its product and marketing plan.

CONCENTRATION: This period lasts from 2 to 4 years when the distributor network is started
MOMENTUM:

This period lasts from 2 to 4 years also.  This is when the company experiences phenomenal growth.  Both retail and distributorship explodes in terms of expanding growth.  It is during this period that a company virtually sweeps across the nation.

 

When a company’s sales reach $50 million annually, they reach what is called “critical mass,” (sales go vertical, right off the graph.)  Also, approximately 2/3 of the company’s growth of new distributors occurs during this period.  When “Herbalife” reached $50 million in  retail sales, they jumped to $151 million in retail sales in only 12 months.  They also added 800,000 distributors to their organization.

 

Let us assume you have an organization that is producing an override bonus check to you of $1000 per month.  When the company reaches “critical mass,” distributors automatically experience a tenfold increase in their earnings.  In other words, $1000 per month becomes $10,000 per month.  This is the reason for getting involved on the “ground floor” so you will experience the benefits of explosive growth.

STABILITY:

This period lasts for the life of the company.  A network marketing company that is dedicated to the success of its distributors will experience longevity, thereby ensuring that an active distributor will realize continued earnings and growth.

 

Entrepreneurial War Cries.

  • DETERMINATION IS THE NAME OF THE GAME. Think about succeeding with the same determination you use to have that extra helping of chocolate cake!

 

  • ORDINARY PEOPLE ARE SANE. So you’re crazy -- mad as a hatter in March. Why else would you slip into something more comfortable and sit in front of a computer?

 

  • NEGATIVE THOUGHTS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Your brain surgeon lifts the scalpel -- he hesitates! Can I do this, he thinks. What if I fail? should I have taken up horse training like my uncle Bart?

 

  • ENTHUSIASM LEADS TO SUCCESS. What if Newton’s mother had said, "Keep your feet on the ground, son. You get much too excited over falling apples."

 

  • VICTORY ABOVE ALL ELSE. Don’t waste your energy worrying about rejections. You get to write a book about it some day.

 

  • REQUIRED ENERGY. You can find energy from hardy sources. Drinking milk twice a day. Green vegetables. A walk around the block. Or if desperately in need of a boost -- stick finger in light socket.

 

  • IDLE HANDS MAKE MISCHIEF. Of course active hands lead to arthritis. Take your pick.

 

  • VIRTUALLY NOBODY SUCCEEDS WITHOUT TRYING. Hmmm, maybe the royals (The British Royal Family? Get it? Ssshhhh!).

 

  • EGG IS WORN ON THE FACE. Maybe because we’re constantly searching for the bacon.

 

  • UNDERSTAND THIS -- NOTHING TASTES SWEETER THAN SUCCESS. I read this somewhere so it must be true.


 

FREEDOM 

In the United States of America lies a large
industrial city which is the sight of one of the
world's largest slave labor camps.

Located in and around the center of this city are
community settlements where the slaves live.

Each morning the slaves move herd-like from their
quarters into the slave labor camps.

Each one is at his or her station by 7:30 AM.
Here they report to their master for the day's
duties. And here they remain chained until 5:00
PM when they're released to go home.

The slaves have no choice as to how many hours
they must labor. Sometimes they are required to
work overtime until their master tells them they
may leave and go home.

Each year the slaves are told when to take
their vacations, for how long, and when they
must return.

They have little choice as to how much money they
earn as they are paid not what they are worth,
but what the job is worth.

They are allowed very little time for lunch and
coffee breaks during the labor hours.

The slaves will remain in their chains in great
fear because the master can punish them with the
"firing" or "layoff" whip.

It is said that even some of the older slaves who
have been good and faithful have felt the sting
of the whip.

Day by day, year-by-year, the slaves toil and
grow older until the master decides it is time to
release them to the retirement camps where
they're forced to sit idle and wait for death.

It's a well-known fact that the old slaves who
try to keep working are sometimes whipped with a
"stop-their-pension" whip.
I know these slave camps exist for I once was
a slave.

But now I am a free man who lives among the
slaves.

The reason I am free is because I am in business
for myself as a Network Marketer.

Yes, I am truly free. I arise in the morning
called for by my schedule.

I decide my own hours. I can even sleep in late
while the slaves are at work.

I can vacation when, where, and for how long
I please.

I'm free to take my coffee break and lunch when
I decide.

And of course, I can decide my own paycheck
because I am not a slave.

I can choose to work when and where I please and
with whom I please.

I'm free to stay in the city for as long as I
want, or to move on to greener pastures if I
decide to.

I've seen many slaves sadly pack their belongings
to leave their city in search of a new master,
but it is always the same.

There is however, a ray of hope for the slave.

He or she can buy their own freedom.

The cost is not high, yet it seems high to those
who do not have the courage to pay the price.

What is the price?

One must be willing to be their own master.

ONE MUST BE WILLING TO
BE THEIR OWN MASTER.
