HEALTH AND NUTRITION - How Toxic Are You?

One of the by-products of science and technology has been an alteration of the 'natural state' of the environment. As a consequence, toxins are highly prevalant. Some of them are:

1. Xenobiotics - these are chemical compounds foreign to the body and come from the outside. It has been estimated that more than a 1000 new chemicals are introduced each year; net result has been about 100,000 xenobiotic substances that are our bodies have to contend with.

2. Industrial Chemicals - The EPA numbers for chemicals introduced into the air and water are staggering! Millions of pounds of chemicals into the public sewage system and into surface waters, billions in toxic emissions all contribute to the trillions of pounds of chemicals released to the environment.

3. Household Chemicals - Individual chemicals may not be harmful, but combinations used in household cleaners and cosmetics can have consequences with long-term use.

4. Agricultural Contamination : Tens of thousands of pesticide formulations are now in use. According to the EPA, pesticide contaminations pose a cancer risk, at a level just below cigarette smoke and radon gas.

5. Pharmaceutical Drugs - This is billion dollar industry. It has been reported that more 100,000 hospital deaths occur as a result of adverse reactions to prescription pharmaceutical drug.

6. Food Additives - to increase shelf-life, add flavor and color all contribute to the reportedly 50 pounds of additives that people consume annually.

So, the question to ask yourself is not 'Are you toxic?' but How toxic are you?'!

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY ON - Vision

"Nothing great has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe something inside them was superior to circumstances." - Bruce Barton

"There's a wonder in the way we're always free; to change the world by changing how we see." - Cyndi Craven

"Being rich has more to do with a picture than a bank account... it is all about the picture you see in your mind about your life... that determines what's in your bank account." - Doug Firebaugh

"Visionaries are NOT special people. The gift of true vision requires only a willingness to open your eyes to first, find the horizon. Once fixated on the horizon comes the ability to see beyond, where the true magic of life exists." - Rick Beneteau

10 STEPS TO BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL NETWORK MARKETER
Author Unknown

You've seen the signs along the road and read the magazine articles. The dream of network marketing; work at home, make great money and have time to do the things you want to do. We've heard the scenario, but few obtain it. The reason many people don't become successful is they begin a "dream-based" opportunity and never turn it into a "REALITY-based" BUSINESS focused on FULFILLING their dreams. Only professional network marketers obtain the dream and they ALL have climbed these steps to success.

The first step is to make your OPPORTUNITY A BUSINESS IN YOUR MIND AND IN OTHER PEOPLE'S EYES. You have to believe it is a business, and they have to see it as a business. So, establish a written financial plan including how much money you will be investing, a time schedule for return of your investment, tax records, office space, equipment needs and materials. The incredible part of the network marketing BUSINESS is that your business can be up and running for the cost of your initial fee + $35. The $35 should include: addition of 3-way calling to your phone bill, a tax notebook, tax receipt box, daily appointment calendar and business cards.

The second step is to WRITE YOUR GOALS DOWN AND A WRITE A LIST OF 100 PROSPECTS. Professional Network Marketers plan for action and have an action plan. Writing down specific goals promotes a directed path of action and business priorities. Research has proven several times over that people with written goals are more likely to meet them. Include with your goal list, a prospect list of 100 people. Keep a paper pad and pen with you and anytime someone comes across your mind that might have a need for your product, service or opportunity, then add them to the list. The next step is obvious take action toward your goals.

The third step is OBTAINING SUPPORT when you need it for education, support and training. Get to know your BUSINESS partners. Part of the wonderful BUSINESS set-up of network marketing is that your upline (partner) gets paid when you are successful. Successful people align themselves with upline who are active and successful in the BUSINESS and then learn from them (not depend on them). Your upline should be available as a resource in the beginning for knowledge you may lack and as a support system in recruiting others, until you have your own success story to share.

The fourth step is LEARNING TO BE SELF-EMPLOYED. Even in the beginning with part-time hours, you MUST designate time and allocate that time to action which will bring you to full-time status. Plan your day including working your list of prospects, follow-up calls with prospects, development calls with new distributors, encouragement calls with leaders and education or personal development time. Where many distributors fail is in continuously "getting ready" to take action and never actually making the calls on their list for recruitment and making few calls for follow-up with prospects. If your appointment book is empty, your pockets will be empty.

The fifth step is PROVIDE SUPPORT TO YOUR DOWNLINE. As a professional network marketer/leader/business owner, it is vital that you show support to your downline. They need to be able to contact you on the telephone or through e-mail. As you grow larger provide them with conference calls, training calls and meetings. Knowing your name and being available to them for education, training and support in recruitment contacts is your job. Some people will perceive you as being there to build the business for them. You can't do that. It doesn't work. They must build their own downline with your support. To do this well you must know your BUSINESS customer (distributor) types and provide good customer service. There are several types of distributors that make up your BUSINESS. Active/Regular Distributors - These distributors love the product or service and want to get it for wholesale or free, purchase it on a monthly basis to get the best discount price and will "share" the benefits and savings with their close inner circle. These distributors account for approximately 25% of your business. Part-Time "Mom and Pops" - These distributors desire extra income. They work 5-7 hours a week, listen to company informational or recruiting calls, attend meetings in their area and add new distributors for the product, service or opportunity on average at least once every two weeks. They "talk" to most people they encounter about the product, service or opportunity. These distributors account for approximately 70% of your business. Business Builders - Part-time or Full-time, these distributors are actively "looking" for someone, no anyone who may be interested in the product, service or opportunity on a daily basis. Just as your "job" is a part of you approximately 20-40 hours a week, their "BUSINESS" is part of them approximately 20- 40 hours a week. They don't eliminate anyone. If they are truly business builders you will find that if they will be doing all the things we talk about for a Professional Network Marketer. Keep in mind these distributors account for only about 5% of your business. Regardless of the type of distributor, you must provide good "customer/distributor service." This means maintaining relationships with them through ongoing education and contact. It also means addressing any questions or issues they have. Just as in any business as you grow larger you will need to utilize communication systems effectively. Now we come to the turn-key step.

The sixth step is CONSISTENTLY FOLLOW A SIMPLE, DUPLICATABLE SYSTEM. You've heard "Keep it Simple", well that's the truth. You need a system from the company or from your upline or you need to develop a system that anyone can reduplicate. It must include the following pieces to be complete: how to contact someone, what to say, what to give, how to follow-up, how to train the next person to do the exact same thing. There are many systems out there in many companies, but most times they are missing at least one of these pieces to the recruiting system or distributors do not follow them, so solid duplication doesn't occurr. It's as simple as "monkey see, monkey do." If you haven't had success in the past, take a system that has ALL of the pieces above and do it 100 times and you will find that persistence and repetition will pay off. Be persistent about being consistent, and be consistent about being persistent.

The seventh step is OPTIMIZING COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND CHANNELS. In our world of advanced communication professional network marketers must utilize the systems available to them to maximize their communications and leverage their time. Hotel recruiting meetings and mailing packages except in a few cases are becoming things of the past. Telephone 3-ways, conference calls, internet web-sites and e-mail are today's communication channels. The "sharing" with the people you come in contact with is an excellent way to establish close to home businesses, but large networks are recruited, built and trained world-wide through telephone and computer systems.

The eighth step is using effecive means of advertising to MAKE YOURSELF VISIBLE. What products comes to mind when you think of these words? Little green lizard "I'm a geco, not a GEICO" (GEICO Insurance) - "Give it to Mikey. He'll eat it. He'll eat anything" (LIFE cereal) - "The Real Thing" (Coca Cola). What do these advertisements have in common? Visibility. You see them or hear them almost every day and when you do, you associate them with a product because it's engrained in your mind. Even major companies know if they want to continue to make money, they have to continue to remind you of their product. Network marketing is the same. Network marketing is built on the principle of eliminating the high cost of advertising for the company and paying you the distributor for your advertisement of the product or service. Advertisement may be you "sharing" with your neighbor. It may be you running a small classified ad or it may be you advertising by some other means. That's why they pay you for advertisement. If you want to get paid, you must be in your prospects mind. Let's say that your business is related to health in some way. You want to have provided them with enough information to trigger their thoughts when they are making lunch, working out at the gym or walking through the grocery store. The more you advertise, the more chances you have for successful recruitment. Remember the more people off your list you have advertised to either by word-of mouth, e-mail, web-site, or business card, the greater your chances for success. Advertising alot and advertising well is a must. Keep this simple advertising formula in mind. The AIDA principle targets: A-Getting Their Attention, I- Sparking Their Interest, D - Building Desire, and A - Telling them what Action to make. Just remember, the more visible you are, the more chances you have to find the people who want what you have.

The ninth step is FOLLOW-UP. This step encompasses your prospect list, your simple duplicatable system and your advertising. Without follow-up the other steps are useless. Think of follow-up as relationship building. How many times can you say you have a relationship with someone after one brief contact. Follow-up with phone calls, letters, e-mails or autoresponders is the next step in building the relationship. Without a relationship sponsoring seldom happens. This is the step that so many amateur network marketers miss and it is the step ALL professional networkers do well.

The tenth step is BE PERSISTENT. Way too often, people even though they know better, have in the back of their minds that network marketing is a get-rich-quick scheme. When they sign-up, pay their $100, use the product for a month and tell 3 people about how great it is, they should be rich. It's just not so. You need to have a product, service or opportunity that you sincerely believe in. You need to commit to working a duplicatable system with your chosen upline and company, day in, day out, for a solid year to reap the benefits.
