Letter from Lew Hughes
(Editorial Note: This email reminds us that we do not have to look outside of ITI to find inspiring people. Lew also did not intend for his letter to go beyond Ginny, we requested him to allow us to share his powerful message.)
Hi Ginny
You would not know but I have been with ITI since September of 1999. I Paid for my only son, and one of my two daughters and my only sister, to become ITI reps. I was hoping they would take an interest in it and do something, just ANYTHING!. But to no avail. I refused to pay their way in again. I kept renewing even while I was at the brink of bankruptcy BECAUSE I could see the uniqueness of the plan and the sincerity of heart of Stuart and Steve, I TRIED TO RECRUIT MANY, MANY,MANY people in these 49 months. I became an MLM "orphan" in my first year and 4 or five levels above me also disappeared very early and I could not find out from rep services who I could talk to upline for ideas. Then I heard on PatLive that Uncle Lee was having meetings within 50 miles of where I lived. So I thought at last I can be around people who will know and understand this business.
I flew to Orlando to the gala, rented a car to get to the hotel, I slept in the car in the hotel parking lot because I did not have the money to pay for a hotel/ motel. I flew to Louisville to the gala there and slept in the rented car there for the same reason. I flew to Concord California, rented a car and that time I scraped up enough money to this time, stay in the hotel for a normal nights rest. There I purchased 100 audio tapes from Michael Kahn, mailed and gave them out.
I have bought and mailed out hundreds of videos at very great expense.
I've traveled 45 to 50 miles each way to almost every weekly meeting that "Uncle Lee had in Corona.
I went to the two recent galas in Las Vegas and I paid for another couples' gala tickets and their hotel costs because they expressed an interest in "what I was doing" and they didn't have funds to go to the gala. Guess what, they didn't join either. I almost forgot, coming back from Las Vegas in '99 or 2000, my engine was ruined in my car and It cost $600 to replace it, $106.00 to tow it to LA from the desert highway and three days car rental.
I also, created a fictitious name/ DBA, with newspaper notification and all, got an EIN number and joined ITI again with the expressed intent to earn what I could thru that new legal entity to give all those earnings to my church, figuring that would encourage my fellow parishioners to take an interest in our business, again it was wishful thinking on my part and I think an attitude on the part of all those I've tried to help of, "well, if he wants to spend his money on us, let him." And I have, BIG TIME.
In October 2002 I invested in a Brian Klemmer weekend workshop. While there I signed up and paid for his "one week" training at the cost of $1500.00. Just before that training I went into the hospital and found I had had two "full blown" strokes so I had to cancel the trip to San Francisco for that training. They refunded all but $250.00 because of my illness. I have spent several thousands of dollars on advertisements for my ITI business.
I have prayed about this business and know several people who pray daily for my success because they know how much I've tried and continue to try to build this business. The 100 club requires that you buy 100 tapes, I bought 300 and mailed and handed them out. I have bought at least 1000 Health News about MA+, I'm still handing them out.
I've gone through all this mumbo jumbo to express how determined I've been to truly build a good substantial ITI business to show all these people who may one day need this business, that it can and will work and that they should have the faith in it that I have in it. I have defended ITI and let everyone know that ITI is not like all those other MLM companies that they are afraid of and have been hurt by.
Everyone around me, who says they care about me and love me, say they wonder why I keep "beating my head against the wall" with this? I quietly knew in my heart that God is keeping me involved with ITI. (I forgot to mention that since January, 2002, I have been paying $200.00 each month for 150 specifically MLM leads. I never used them because I had had such universal rejection in my warm market. So I have 3450 leads that I want to upload into the "mypro" system. Can you instruct me on how to do that? What program do I have to put them into to upload them?)
After your "MyPRO" presentation at the 2003 gala in Sacramento, and my friend "Uncle Lee" encouraging me to look at his MY PRO website, I began to see an inexpensive opportunity for me to, at last, make some head way in this business.
When I decided to sign up for the "fundraising coach class" and I talked to you and you suggested creating "employee benefit clubs, instantly I knew why God kept me in this business. Now I will be able to help thousands!
With this plan, Samuel Llewellyn Hughes will become a superstar in ITI starting November, 11, 2003. (And, I can sell this plan to many, many people where I could not sell MLM to anyone.)
That's tomorrow, 11/11/03. After my class with you, I shall call my first company. Today I bought a years subscription of business leads. Mark it on your calendar, that Lew Hughes begins his new life as "$uccessful" Lew Hughes. I am going to be "in my element" talking to company owners. I'm very excited about it.
