BOSS Cable Transits CT120 & CT240
BOSS Cable Transits CT120 & CT240 are engineered to prevent the spread of fire where electrical power, data & communications cables, and insulated metallic pipes pass through fire-rated walls and floors. Each unit consists of a steel sleeve lined with high-performance graphite intumescent, which expands rapidly under fire conditions to seal the penetration and protect adjoining compartments. Their innovative hinged design allows fast installation and easy retrofit around pre-installed services, making them ideal for staged construction environments.
Available in a wide range of square, and rectangular configurations, BOSS Cable Transits allow installers to firestop single cables or large cable bundles, trays and insulated metal pipes. Approved to AS1530.4:2014 & AS4072.1-2005, the CT series provides FRLs up to -/240/240, ensuring compliance across commercial, residential, industrial and critical infrastructure projects.

Testing
BOSS Cable Transits CT120 & CT240 have undergone extensive fire testing to AS1530.4:2014 and AS4072.1-2005, achieving up to FRL -/240/240 across a wide variety of configurations in both walls and floor slabs. Testing covers single and bundled power cables and data cables, and—specifically for CT240—insulated copper & steel pipes using K-FLEX lagging. Performance varies by substrate type, cable type, bundle size, and insulation requirements.
Units must be installed in strict accordance with test evidence and manufacturer guidelines, including the use of the specified insulation wrap in various tested configurations. SDS documentation confirms the product is non-hazardous and non-dangerous, comprising a steel enclosure with a graphite-based intumescent core.
