What is Passive Fire? - 1 Formal CPD Point

This session demystifies one of the most critical aspects of building safety. You’ll learn how fire compartmentation works, how to interpret Fire Resistance Levels (FRLs), and how to navigate the compliance requirements of AS 1530.4 and AS 4072.1. Real fire test footage, industry examples, and practical firestopping applications are included throughout.

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Explain the principles of fire compartmentation and why it is mandatory under the NCC
  • Interpret Fire Resistance Levels (FRLs) and understand how they are determined
  • Identify compliant firestopping systems and understand how to specify them correctly
  • Navigate AS 1530.4 and AS 4072.1 with confidence
  • Apply NCC compliance pathways for passive fire protection in real building scenarios

This course is presented in-person or online by your local BOSS Fire technical specialist.
