The BOSS FX Fire Collar™ is a cost-effective retrofit fire collar for sealing medium HVAC and electrical service bundles where they pass through fire-rated walls and floors. The steel chassis fits around new or existing services and is filled with intumescent infill to the depth of the collar. In a fire event, the intumescent swells to close off the gaps left as combustible services melt, holding compartmentation and preventing the spread of fire, smoke and hot gases between compartments.
The FX Fire Collar™ is built for the middle ground. It handles bundles that are too large or too congested for a sealant alone, yet not large enough to warrant a multi-transit device. A key advantage is that the collar controls the infill depth, so compliance is measured rather than guessed. Available in six sizes and approved across fire-rated plasterboard, concrete and masonry walls, and concrete floor slabs, the FX Fire Collar™ carries test approvals to AS1530.4:2014 & AS4072.1-2005, achieving FRL ratings of 60 and 120 minutes depending on system configuration. Approved services include pair coil, lagged copper pipes, condensate drains, and power and comms cables.
