The BOSS FyrePad™ (Formerly PuttyPad™) is a pre-cut fire and acoustic putty pad that reinstates fire resistance and sound isolation inside electrical flush boxes where they penetrate fire-rated walls. Straight from the box, the pad folds into the shape of the flush box and presses into every internal face, holding a minimum 3mm thickness. Under fire, it maintains its bond to the substrate, with integrity and insulation held by the stability of the char.
Made for electricians, passive fire applicators and maintenance teams, the PuttyPad™ suits single and double gang plastic and metal flush boxes in new and existing builds. It needs no primer on most common substrates and no ancillary materials, so a compliant, inspectable install takes seconds. Rated for cable penetrations up to Ø14mm, it reinstates fire resistance up to -/180/- and -/120/120 and improves acoustic isolation up to Rw70, depending on wall and flush box configuration. Performance is supported by testing to EN 1366-3:2021.

The BOSS PuttyPad™ is tested to EN 1366-3:2021 for fire resistance in electrical flush box penetrations. Ratings reach -/180/- for metal back boxes in flexible walls ≥100mm, and up to -/120/120 depending on wall and flush box configuration, with acoustic isolation improved up to Rw70. Installation must follow the test evidence, the manufacturer’s specifications, or a project-specific performance solution. Confirm the tested system suits your construction and seek acceptance from the certifying authority or compliance inspector before installation.
